Dr. Homayoun Ataei is board certified in Family medicine with special interest in preventive medicine. He completed medical school in Iran in 1996 and after practicing as a general practitioner for several years in Iran he moved to the USA. He completed his residency in Family Medicine in Louisiana State University in Monroe in 2008 and obtained his board certification in the same year.
Dr. Ataei joined the Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 2008 as Assistant professor of Family medicine faculty and worked there till he moved to Houston to join Westchase Clinical Associates.
He is a Member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American medical association (AMA) and American Association for Primary Care Endoscopy (AAPCE)
Dr. Ataei has served as medical director for the behavioral health center in Shreveport Louisiana, (2009-2013) and Assistant medical director of Comprehensive care clinic (CCC) in Family Medicine Dept. in LSU Health science center (2011-2013). He has contributed fully as a mentor and advisor for medical students and Family medicine residents with expanded teaching sessions on preventive medicine and served on various hospital committees while working in LSU.
Dr. Ataei continues to contribute to teaching with precepting physican assistant students during their roation in WCCA family medicine clinic.
He is qualified by the drug addiction treament act and is actively managing patients on Suboxone.
He is certified by the U.S. citizenship and immigration services for required medical examinations and vaccinations for green card applicants.
